When I think about what comprises the signature look of Pretty Please Baby, three things consistently come together to create the perfect harmony of what I find pretty. The first is flowers – fresh and faux. Blooms are an essential part of my designs, and I spend a lot of time curating my collection of faux flowers to ensure I always have the highest quality in color and longevity. The second signature component is my use of unique or vintage pieces. As a designer that values sentiment more than spending, I am constantly on the lookout for timeless pieces that can be a permanent part of my repertoire instead of buying new or disposable items for every event. I’m inspired by vintage and classic brands and have always had an eye for distinctive items. Lastly, Pretty Please Baby utilizes a carefully curated color palette of playful pastels. I find pastels to be warm and luring, the perfect expression of the dreamy, peaceful place we want our babies to hold in our hearts and homes.
The do-it-yourself aspect of my work is gratifying on so many levels. There is the obvious cost effectiveness which allows me to utilize every dollar of the event budget, but even more important is that I’ve given my client, or my own child, an aesthetic that can’t be purchased elsewhere. A Pretty Please Baby Design will always include something that was unique to the way I envisioned the event, either in how it reflects the guest of honor, or in how it creates the particular atmosphere I wanted the event guests to experience.
I hope my own journey in building Pretty Please Baby will inspire others to take personal pride in perfecting their own pretty, in their own way. Follow my PRETTY PLEASE BABY PORTFOLIO here.
