Since I closed up shop and went on an indefinite “maternity leave” I have really missed crafting and designing. Planning my daughter’s birthday celebrations have been my favorite event to plan yet and so I think about them far in advance. This year my daughter Sienna turned two and a few weeks before her birthday I had my second child, my son Milan. I was a little anxious if I would be able pull off the design I had in mind for my daughter’s birthday but somehow I did it. So when I should have been sleeping while my kiddos were sleeping – I would blow up balloons and build the balloon garland I did for Sienna’s birthday backdrop. It took me a week to finish it. I was so afraid that the balloons would deflate by the time her birthday came around but thankfully they lasted. I learned how to do make the ballon garland by watching a DIY video I found on YouTube. Here is the link to it. I used the same blank white wall space in my home from Sienna’s 1st birthday – took down the usual wall mirror that hangs there and left my usual console table there for convenience.
I chose a horse theme because my daughter loves horses and loves to say “neigh neigh neigh” all the time. Though by the time her birthday came around she was obsessed with the movie Frozen! Maybe next years theme?
A big thanks to my friend and family photographer for bringing every detail to life.
